Research and information on mathematics and mathematics learning has changed over the past 100 years. The focus in the first half of the 20th century was computing methods such as excavation, practice, coincidence learning (Brownell, 1947; Thorndike, 1924). Of course, this emphasis can be attributed to the lack of available technology and the need for effective computing in society (Jones et al., 2002). The development of new mathematics in the second half of the 20th century was a change in the position of mathematics educators and researchers.

The Renaissance is an era of hearts changing as "rebirth". This is an era when the medieval thought and philosophy began to change dramatically. Scientists have discovered new information about mathematics, physics and astronomy. Human form has been studied very precisely. Since the basic concept of Renaissance is "humanitarianism" and recognizes the fundamental value of a person as an individual as well as the soul serving God and the church, the desire for knowledge begins to impair the status of the church I will. At that time, even though seeking scientific explanation due to inconsistency with the teachings of the church some great thinkers were persecuted. The power of information and knowledge is so powerful that these new ideas of Renaissance have spread rapidly throughout Italy and Europe.

What we call Babylonian mathematics is actually understanding of Mesopotamian mathematics and relatively new information. The source of mathematical information discovered and translated is wedge shaped text. Hundreds of such mathematical tablets are recycled. Two thirds of the recovered tablets are considered "old Babylon" between 1800 and 1600. Based on these and other findings, most research mathematics says Babylonians far exceeded the Egyptians in mathematics. In many tables, numbers from 1 to 50 squares, and cubes, square roots, and cubic roots are given.
