Horace Greeley founded an influential "New York Tribune" in 1841 and edited it over more than 30 years. Through his news newspaper, Greeley became an influential voice in national politics. The following points were taken from an open letter to President Abraham Lincoln that Greeley announced on Tribune on August 19, 1962.
