Enlightenment has not only helped influence France and the industrial revolution influenced by it at the same time. Enlightenment was a period of the 18th century devoted to evaluating human knowledge and reason in society (Waters and Crook, 1993). Meanwhile, scientific beliefs trying to challenge tradition, especially religion are rising. The goal is to replace them with rational and scientific principles (van Krieken et al., 2000: 23). Sociologists like Marx, Weber and Durchem believe that the change in modernity makes religions obsolete (Giddens, 1997: 349). This belief in secularization makes it possible to pursue beliefs in science and seek solutions to the social crisis through application and progress of human knowledge (Bilton et al., 1996: 37). This mission is about how enlightenment affected the political, social and cultural policies of the French people during the revolution of 1789-1815. Enlightenment is an intellectual and international movement that played an important role in the development of modern Europe. Many changes occurred in Europe during this period. Thinkers such as Voltaire, Montesquieu, Jeans Jacques Rousseau criticized and attacked three organizations, monarchies, aristocrats, and churches. They want to solve the middle class problems and hope the church will lose power. Enlightenment has changed the way people think about religion and the government. They try to understand happiness, politics, society and start thinking for themselves. One of the three important aspects of Enlightenment is democracy, citizenship, and human rights. They wish for a new government to care about their needs and solve their problems.
