The influence of culture on ergonomics The influence of culture on ergonomics can not be denied. Some people sometimes say it is difficult to distinguish between them. The term "culture" is difficult to define because people are related to it. For this reason, we need to study the most basic cultural concepts.
Engineering, science and technology also have an impact (and are influenced by society). Our human values, needs or problems often determine the problems scientists are investigating and the problems the engineers are solving. At the same time, technology as a product of science and engineering influences society and changes human culture (think only of the influence of cars and mobile phones).
Culture has extensive influence on these aspects of human activity, symbolic and meaningful actions, expectations, values, customs and traditions. Because cultural influences change under political, social, technical and economic forces, they become very dynamic and complicated and it is often difficult to judge the impact on human behavior . The influence of culture on contemporary consumers varies from country to country, influenced by individual family, friends, and the social environment in their lives.
Current technologies, policies and culture influence the relationship between demographic dynamics and the natural environment. Technological changes affecting environmental conditions are related to energy use. As shown in Figure 1, the consumption of petroleum, natural gas and coal in the 20th century has increased dramatically. Until around 1960, industrialized countries played a large part of this consumption. However, since then, the industrialization of emerging economies has been increasingly dependent on resources and highly contaminated production processes.
The rapid development of technology has influenced every aspect of human society. Technology plays an important role in improving the quality of life, changes in people's attitudes toward relationships and the formation of culture. Technology has had a great impact on human society, which is considered to be the most important productive power in modern society. But as Stanford University's Vivek Wadhwa (2014) said, law and ethics can not catch up with technology pace. As a result, the conflict between destructive technology and ethical issues becomes more prominent, causing wider public interest and discussion. Therefore, to maintain the sustainability of technology development, it is essential to pay attention to the moral issues posed by destructive techniques.
