The purpose of this study was to implement a program to increase parent involvement at Lake Worth junior high school. The goal is parents of junior high school students at Lake Worth Junior High School who do not participate in the school process and adversely affect their success. A comprehensive review of the educational literature suggests that most researchers agree on the importance of parent involvement in improving academic performance (LaBahnn, 1995; Epstein, 1995; Henderson & Berla, 1994). LaBahnn (1995) explained that parent involvement is beneficial not only for students, but also for teachers, schools, and other students in the classroom.
It is especially important to pay more attention to parent involvement at junior high school and high school level if parental involvement declines rapidly. There are few secondary schools planning comprehensive parents' participation, and there are few parents who volunteer at school (Epstein & Lee 1995). Most high school teachers (60%) report that there is little or no contact with parents (Dornbusch & Ritter 1988). Studies show that as these schools develop programs to encourage school-family connections, more families will join schools and better teach children's learning efforts.
Most parents who reported that their parents participated during elementary school pointed out that parents' involvement will gradually decline in secondary schools and high schools. Some parents said that this reduction in support led to their own poor grades in high school and / or lack of educational opportunities after secondary education. This personal course was said to have promised that they would continue to participate in the children's education: at the end of primary education, I was not interested in going to college. I dislike going to school. Because I had many conflicts at school, I just said that, "I will not go to the university forgetting it." I do not remember my parents, and I discussed this. Now, I think you are absolutely necessary. "I think it's crazy when I turn around, my parents should let me go to college, the opportunity is there I am very smart, I can go
