Because people can read, illiteracy is a recurring dilemma. Children do not know how to read and write at school, or they need additional help to become good at reading and writing. School planning was established to help schools improve children's literacy rate. After school program is a program that provides services to help children, after school, art, crafts, sports, or homework. Whether the after school program is responsible for improving the literacy rate of children.
Through the grade from 2016 to 2017, I was a literacy teacher of Chelsea's junior high school student's extracurricular literacy. I offered a book club to improve the literacy rate for elementary school 6th grade students. Classes are held three times a week and consist of nine students. Each of the nine people has its own personality, reading and reading performance is improving. Students selected as book club programs are neither underlying performers nor top performers. Elementary school includes all grade. In some areas, it includes from kindergarten to 8th grade. In other areas, it is regarded as a junior high school ranging from 5th graders, 6th graders, 7th graders, 8th graders. Primary school teachers are interacting with students of various age groups from 5 to 6 years old, 11 to 12 years old. Elementary school students are in various stages of development and their needs vary widely. However, most elementary school teachers are focusing on specific grade and teach classes of students of the same age. In fact, in some states teachers are required to pass certification to teach a specific grade.
