In Defense of the use of Folk Psychology in Audience Analysis

Compared with objective academic preferences of today's reading and writing, emotional and passionate beliefs are prerequisites and are considered to be an integral part of ancient rhetorical arguments. Aristotle believes that the emotional state of the audience is extremely important in persuasion (31). It is often the case that pain is caused by injuries, which often prevent us from concentrating on that work, and that this perception is usually caused by appropriate environmental conditions. Carruthers pointed out the complexity of folk psychology and its success in explaining our behavior and its interpretation attracted unobservable facts such as beliefs, desires, emotions and thoughts.
