This study aimed to investigate the influence of three different forms of strategic education on the reading ability of 210 primary school students. Students are assigned to one of three intervention conditions or conventional guidance conditions (management conditions). Trainees are taught four reading strategies (summary, question, explanation, prediction), practice these strategies in groups (mutual guidance), in pairs, or in steering groups. In the post - test and subsequent tests, the intervention students scored higher than the control students who had received prior guidance in reading comprehension and strategy using tasks. In addition, students conducting mutual guidance in the group are superior to the reading comprehension test standardized by the teacher guidance and the traditional guidance group.

Alfassi (1998) investigated the influence of strategic teaching method (mutual teaching method) on reading comprehension of high school students. Researchers found that the reading comprehension score of students who received policy guidance (in evaluations developed by researchers) increased significantly from before intervention to after intervention. In contrast, the reading comprehension score of the control group showed little increase (Alfassi, 1998).

Improve students' reading comprehension: Effects of strategic teaching methods and mutual teaching methods

Mutual guidance is aimed at improving the ability to monitor, understand and learn from reading. The purpose of mutual guidance is to enable students to apply these strategies themselves. According to the survey, through thorough practice, students will acquire mutual instruction strategies and use them independently for other reading tasks. In the student guidance stage, class volunteers need to undertake the role of leaders. We will guide them through the above four steps. Once students are ready, divide the course into groups. You can assign students with leadership roles to each group and guide the group through these four steps. Monitor the team carefully so that all students perform each strategy in turn. Ultimately all students will lead the team and use all four strategies.
