In many democracies, social opinion plays an important role in political decision-making. However, some of these freedoms and democratic government practices slowed the implementation of laws and policies. In times of crisis, many of these are not the best choices for national security. The government should acknowledge individual rights and discuss and think about the rights that people believe, but they should be suspended during the crisis in order to put problems under control and to make important political decisions effective.
