Importance of Religious Freedom Essay Contest

In order to celebrate our innermost right, Mary Washington University (UMW) and Fredericksburg Reasoning Alliance (FredCoR), Philosophy and Religion Department recommended that junior high school students participate in the essay contest. Students are asked to use their own words, why religious freedom is important to us.

This project will be an opportunity to encourage young people to enjoy important freedom, sometimes even more complicated problems, understand and appreciate the freedom we enjoy. They will be encouraged to learn from the experiences of life studied in families and the wider world. This opportunity to express our own concept of life becomes memories of their high school days, and I hope they lead them to adulthood. It would be even better if experience would help to further plant the love of writing for some students. Certainly, we get some interesting insights.

With the support and guidance from the instructor, student groups of UMW Classics, Philosophy and Religious Department will review the thesis and choose the three best papers. Awards and awards of all entries will be part of the annual religious freedom celebration in January 2015.
