Immigration and Customs Enforcement

I.C.E Immigration Bureau and customs authorities are often called I.C.E, an elite organization of the Department of Homeland Security, established in 2003 to respond to 9/11 attacks. ICE has two main elements, homeland security survey and enforcement and removal operations. It is also the second largest law enforcement agency in the United States, after the Federal Bureau of Investigation. ICE was created during the investigation of the US Customs Service and Immigration and Naturalization Bureau and the merger of domestic law enforcement agencies.

The US Immigration Customs Enforcement Organization (ICE) is a federal government law enforcement agency aimed at enforcing the US immigration control law and investigating crimes and terrorist acts of foreigners residing in the United States. ICE has two main elements. Department of Homeland Security Research (HSI), enforcement and revocation action (ERO). The ICE is a federal agency under the jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which investigates and enforces over 400 federal regulations and fulfills its role as a commissioner of key foreign diplomatic missions outside the United States . Instead of patrolling the US border, the ICE is carried out by US border patrols instead, and US customs and border protection is the sister institution of ICE. Former ICE representative director Thomas Homan assumed office as Ronald Vitiello, Executive Director, on June 30, 2018.

The Immigration Customs Execution (ICE) team consisting of over 20,000 employees is in charge of enforcing the immigration customs tax law in the United States. ICE enforces federal law on border control, customs, trade and immigration control. There are two main components of the ICE: the Department of Homeland Security Research (HSI) and the enforcement / demolition (ERO). Customs border security office (CBP), which consists of more than 60,000 employees, is one of the world's largest law enforcement agencies. On November 25, 2002, President George W. Bush signed the Homeland Security Consolidation Act (H.R. 5005) in 2002. This bill is a combination of approximately 22 Federal agencies or agency components and more than 170,000 employees into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On 22nd January 2003, the Senate approved former US Department of Defense and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ritchie as the first secretary of the new agency.

Three Federal agencies are responsible for the administration and enforcement of immigration laws. The Immigration Bureau (ICE) investigates those who have violated the law and have prosecuted offenders. The US Citizenship Immigration Services (USCIS) handles legitimate immigration applications. Customs border security office (CBP) is responsible for protecting border security. All three of these institutions are part of the Department of Homeland Security. Generally speaking, people from abroad can get permission to enter the United States through the visa approval process. Visa has two objectives. Immigrant visas are for those who want to stay in this country and want to work here. These visas are subject to country quota. Nonimmigrant visas are temporarily available to visitors, students and businessmen who are here.
