Image of the sacrifice of sacrifice of school-aged children. A simple word reminiscent of two completely different images. Today sacrifice is often considered a noble and beautiful act, but it is also a painful emotion, mental and physical pain. On the other hand, when done under the name of religion, the sacrifice may include providing gifts to God for worship or atonement. Usually, when the sacrifice involves the latter, the implication of the term will be darker as the dominant image is a ritual massacre.
For many children all over the world from low-income communities like Ntokozo, a great sacrifice from the family is necessary to attend school. Schools are often far away from home, goods and uniforms can be expensive, and families often need children to help their families. For many of these elementary school parents, as many people know that the power of education can change everything for the next generation, the sacrifice seems to be worthwhile. One of the earliest obstacles that children may face is to learn the difficulty of reading in an unintelligible language. It seems obvious that it is better to learn to read in the language the child speaks, but it is not always a choice for many indigenous languages. In fact, according to UNESCO statistics, more than 2 billion people have not received native language education.
It is estimated that the language used by 222 million school-age children is not the main instructional medium in the formal school system. Students who do not have direct reading and writing skills in their native language have difficulty learning other languages, such as mother tongue and instructional language at school. They are likely to drop out of school because their teachers and their families do not know the methods and resources to help them. Along with advances in technology, there is an increasing number of initiatives aimed at providing these students and teachers with the resources they need to read and write in the language they express and understand.
Teachers play an important role in supporting language development. In addition to teaching children to study and write at school, they also need to help children learn and use the language aspects related to academic discourses in various school subjects. They need to be helpful in deepening their understanding of how languages work in different ways in the curriculum. As the students have opportunities to use the new forms and expressions they face, how the language works well to expand the horizon of the student's language and to select textbooks to help plan the teaching activities It is necessary to understand. Teachers need to understand how to design the language environment of the classroom in order to optimize learning of languages and literacy and to avoid the language barrier in learning the content field (Wong Fillmore & Snow, page 7).
