"The Yellow Wall - Paper" is fictitious, but Gilman 's life seems to be similar to the life of her main character, so it can be thought of as almost the same as Gilman' s autobiography. (P 799) In this story, a woman who just gave birth has some complications causing so-called "hysteria" and tension.
