Throughout the history of the United States, the problem of social freedom has been questioned since the civil war started. In addition to the social equality of black people and immigrants, the problem of female voting rights is gradually emerging. During the Victorian era, women were domesticated and were expected to maintain proper behavior established by the Victorian society. However, in the late nineteenth century, through gradual reforms, consumption, politics, and labor changed nationwide over a wide range. Women receive more education and opportunities to enter new jobs are increasing.

Gender social construction is the concept of feminist and sociological research on gender and gender differences in society. According to this view, society and culture create gender roles defined as ideal or appropriate actions of people of a particular gender.
