Hume's Wide Construal of the Virtues

Extensive summary of Hume's virtue: Traditionally the term "virtue" was used to denote morally superior personality such as mercy, charity, honesty, wisdom, honor. Ethicists usually do not provide a clear list of virtues, but the number of virtues being discussed is very small, their moral significance is obvious. The analysis of Hume's virtue is separated from this tradition in terms of the number of virtues discussed and clear moral significance.

In his work "Humanity theory", David Hume divides virtues into two categories, artificial virtue and natural virtue. Hume pointed out that courage is a natural virtue in paper. Among the paper's "pride and humility, its purpose and cause", Hume clearly shows that courage is the cause of pride. Witness, goodwill, learning, courage, justice, honesty, all these are the reasons for pride, and the opposite of their humility.

David Hume offers some narrative on moral virtue. All of them relate virtue to the audience's entertainment experience. Hume believes that the joy that is appropriate for deciding virtues is happiness being corrected through a "general perspective". I think that the general way to solve this problem is to let the account accept such accusations: it can not fully consider the virtue of misunderstanding. We think we need to see Hume providing metaphysical and moral epistemology, and Hume 's virtue account can completely explain the error.
