Today, we have various humanitarian organizations in the world. The purpose of these organizations is intentional. This aim is to satisfy individual needs. Some people focus on physical needs such as water needs and others focus on economic or emotional needs. These organizations work at international, national and local level to provide services to those in need of assistance. There are many charity organizations doing this. Some of them are Water.org, American Red Cross, and National Competence Center.
The European refugee crisis has revealed to the world what humanitarian aid organizations have long known: the means to provide our current institutions and aid can not catch up with the increase in refugees all over the world. Currently, there are 65 million displaced people worldwide and this number is expected to increase to 245 million by the middle of the century due to conflict, famine, climate change and economic turmoil. At the same time, our biggest humanitarian aid organization is facing a serious shortage of funds - last year's UNHCR achieved only 50% funding goal and its financing gap was $ 7 billion.
UNHCR is a humanitarian organization and not a political organization. Our mission is to support all refugees and displaced people around the world. For this purpose, we focus on solutions. Even if you sign a piece of paper, society will not change. There is a fair, just and permanent solution. They must arrive early in order to root the wishes of peace talks in Havana and make it prosperous. Today's situation in Colombia will help solve this problem. The United Nations has supported all the political parties to the conflict and we will continue to work with the government, the signatories to the peace treaty and civil society to build a lasting peace for Colombia. This is the longest continuing confrontation in Latin America where peace helps the stability and prosperity of the whole region.
Civil society activists, donor organizations, newspaper editorial community reflected Hassan's frustration. Yemen is the most serious disaster in the expansion of the humanitarian crisis faced by today's world, and the international community can not stop this disaster, or it will not be the case. As the promise of humanitarian values weakened, violent conflicts are increasing dramatically. The number of wars and the recorded "battle death" - fighters and civilians - reached the lowest ever in 2005, but it has risen sharply since 2011. As the UN's record begins, the subsequent damage will help to create the most people who need relief in 1998.
