Human Sexuality Research of Masters and Johnson

Human Nature and Johnson and Johnson's master's degree are pioneering teams in the field of human sexuality both in research and treatment. Gynecologist William Howell Masters was born in 1915 in Cleveland, Ohio. Psychologist Virginia Esherman Johnson was born in Springfield, Montana in 1925. To fully understand their contribution, it is necessary to look at their work in a historical context. In 1948, Alfred C. Kinsey and his colleagues published a book called "Human Male Sexual Behavior" in response to the detailed request for human sexuality from female students at the Indiana University.

The sexual response cycle is a model of the physiological response occurring during descriptive activities. This model was created by William Masters and Virginia Johnson. According to Masters and Johnson, the human sexual response cycle is divided into four phases: excitement, altitude, orgasm, and resolution. These are also known as EPOR models. At the excitement stage of the EPOR model, people gain a unique motivation for having sex. The Takahara period is a precursor to orgasm, while the high tide is primarily male biology, whereas women are mainly psychological. Orgasm is the release of tension, and the resolution period is the unpassed state before the cycle begins again.
