In this article we will outline the sex of power and its impact on social impact. Men usually have a higher level of expertise and legal authority than women and there is evidence that women have higher reference rights than men. These differences are reflected to some extent by gender differences between male and female influence strategies, and more specifically social influences. Women often have difficulty in exerting influence over men, especially when using influence that conveys ability and authority. These findings suggest that sex difference in influence is adjusted by sex difference in power.
