After the war, the United States experienced a rapid social change in the women's values and attitudes, and in the role of traditional gender. Today, many women in North America are leaving the role of traditional housewives for education, paid employment, acquiring personal status, and contributing to families (Thornton & Cambum., 1979, p. 61). Participation in women's education and increased paid work are accompanied by a sharp decline in the birthrate and this trend is expected to continue in the future.
The proportion of women receiving Latin American university education is rising, and the divorce rate is rising. As in the United States and many developed countries, women in Latin America tend to be reluctant to postpone marriage to achieve career goals and to maintain unsatisfactory economic safety. • Native Americans face many challenges in the formation and maintenance of a healthy marriage. Poverty is one of the biggest challenges. The proportion of native American living below the poverty line is more than twice the national average. Native American children are likely to live in poverty twice as much as non-native children. The possibility of living at home without parents is almost twice.
Ethnic and ethnic groups in the United States do not all have the same teen pregnancy rate and fertility rate. Depending on religion, age, socio-economic status, female birth rates in American women differ. In the 1970s and 1980s, African American women had the highest fertility rate, Hispanic women had the highest fertility rate, and white women had the lowest birth rate. But today, the proportion of Hispanic women is the highest, followed by African Americans and Caucasians. The birthrate of black women is significantly lower than any other ethnic group. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the birthrate of Hispanic teenagers in 2005 was 82 newborns per 1000 girls aged 15 to 19. The comparison data of black and non-Hispanic whites is 61 people per 1,000 people and 26 people per 1000 people. The youth with the lowest birthrate among young people is young people of Asians and Pacific Islanders, 17 of 1,000 have died.
