Georges Alexandre Krins was born in Paris, France on March 18, 1889. His family is from Belgium, and he soon returned to the spa town after birth. He first studied at Academie de Musique de Spa. He then moved to the Conservatory in Liege, Belgium, and received the highest honorable violin prize from 30th October 1902 to 1908. When I was young he wanted to join the army, but his parents convinced him. He works at his father's store and is playing at the spa's La Grande Symphonie. In 1910, he moved to Paris and became the first violin of Le Trianon Lyrique. After that he moved to London and worked at the Ritz Hotel for two years until March 1912. He lives in 10 Villa Road in Brixton, London and became a band conductor of Trio String Orchestra playing near Café Français. This made him to be adopted by the Titanic by Liverpool's CW & FN Black.
He took the Titanic at England, Southampton on Wednesday 10th April 1912. His ticket number is 250654, a ticket to all members of Wallace Hartley Orchestra. His cabin is the second class, he is the only Belgian musician in the Titanic. After the Titanic hit the iceberg and began to sink, Collins and his band members gathered at the first class lounge and began playing music to help passengers stay calmly and staying. They later moved to the first half of the deck of the ship and they kept playing while the crew were carrying lifeboats. When Collins died he was 23 years old. His body never recovered again
