In this article, I compare Eastenders and Neighbors in how soap attracts their target audience. I will identify the key components shared by different soaps and study different ways these major components can range from one soap to another. The main ingredient of soap is that they can be used for many years. Soap is usually cereal and is located in certain places such as Eastenders's Albert Square. In the soap opera, they all have a role to appeal to a particular audience. Here are some characters appealing to a specific audience; I chose three roles from Eastenders and Neighbors.
The reason for writing this article is that we need to judge the difference between the two types of soap. One is Australia and the other is Britain. The soap in Australia is called "neighbor" and the soap in the UK is called "Coronation Street". We are working on these two kinds of soap. Because each type of soap succeeds in reaching the target layer. The first soap I want to write is "Coronation Street" which is two of the British soaps.
Thomas Barratt (1841-1914) is considered "father of advertisement" because he did creative activities for his father's mother-in-law soap company Pears. Prior to Thomas, soap was a mere soap. This is a product. Thomas Barratt first created a creative advertisement based on the target audience he wants to pursue (high culture). For ads below 1885 you can see a two-year testimony using famous London actress Pears soap. Being a famous actress is a big problem (many followers know these genes and are interested). By using pear soap, consumers can make them feel as attractive as actresses.
The target audience of the Soap Operas type was born in discrimination by gender in the 1930's. The daytime TV series broadcast on the radio is targeting American housewives directly. As the audience evolved more men started to notice, but I believe that society still means femininity of soap opera. The soap always had a high emotional content; this feature itself caused more women's interest for the real stereotypes of emotional women. It is still still an emotional center as a story can still be seen in the latest soap opera
According to John Fiske, TV programs are categorized by gender. Fiske believes that the producer uses a target audience divided into two, male and female, to propose concrete planning. As an example, he uses a drama and his male character. As we all know, soap opera is mainly seen by women and male characters are made with soap opera making women more enjoyable. These men have feminine features to appeal to women, but male characters are unpleasant with soap opera. This created a wonderful soap opera for women. And it proves that television programs are gender. Each program also has its own compatible advertisement. If this is a male show, such as a weekend football game, the advertisement is targeting a man. When this is a women's program such as drama during the day, the advertisement usually targets women.
