Rhode Island was founded in 1636 by Roger Williams. Originally called "Roodt Eylandt" by Adrian Block, he once explored the area for the Netherlands, but its name means "Red Island".
Roger Williams was brought up in the UK and left with his wife, Mary Bernard, in 1630 when persecution of Puritans and Separatists began to rise. He moved to the Massachusetts bay colony and served as a pastor and farmer between 1631 and 1635. But in many colonies I think his view is extremely radical. But he believes that the religion he is practicing is not influenced by the English church or the king of England. He also raised questions about the king's right to provide land to individuals in the New World.
During his tenure as Pastor Salem, he fought a great battle with colonial leaders. He feels that each church congregation should be autonomous and will not obey instructions of the leaders.
In 1635, Williams was expelled to the UK by the Massachusetts bay colony. Because he believed in the separation of the church and the state, and freedom of religion. He escaped and lived in Providence with Narragansett and Indians. Providence was founded in 1636 and fascinated other separatists trying to escape colonial religious rules they did not agree with. One of the separatists is Anne Hutchinson. She was also exiled to speak at the church in the Massachusetts Bay. She moved to the area, but she did not settle in Providence. Instead, she helped to establish Portsmouth.
As time goes on, villages continue to increase. Two other villages appeared, and all four villages were added. In 1643, Williams traveled to the UK and was allowed to form a Providence Plantation from Providence, Portsmouth and Newport. Later I changed to Rhode Island. From 1654 to 1657, Williams will continue to serve as Governor of Rhode Island Government.
During the American Revolutionary War, Rhode Island was a prosperous colony with fertile soil and rich harbor. However, the harbor also means that after the war in France and India, Rhode Island was seriously affected by British import and export regulations and taxes. The colony is the leader of independence movement. It blocked the relationship before the declaration of independence. There was no actual fight on the land of Rhode Island, but the UK occupied and occupied Newport until October 1779.
After the war, Rhode Island continued to show independence. In fact, it does not agree with the Federal faction's approval of the Federal Constitution unless it has come into force.
The colony is the last one to approve the US Constitution - after it came into effect the government was established
Rhode Island's colony was also a picture of the Massachusetts bay colony that was founded by Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson. Both established different regions of Rhode Island, and because of their religious belief, they were all expelled from the Gulf of Massachusetts. Rhode Island will be the first colony to establish complete religious freedom. The scale is small, but Rhode Island has had a major impact on the American Revolution. Because it was Nasana El Green 's hometown. The colony of New Hampshire was named in 1622 after being borrowed by John Mason. However, it experienced long-term instability and brought down stagnant growth. In 1741 King George II promulgated the border between Massachusetts State and New Hampshire State. New Hampshire will continue to participate in the American Revolutionary War as an independent government in 1776
The Rhode Island colony is one of the first 13 colonies of the United States, divided into three areas: the New England colony, the central colony, and the Southern colony. Colonies in Rhode Island are among four New England colonies, including New Hampshire Colony, Connecticut Colony, and Massachusetts Colony. Rhode Island colony was founded by Roger Williams in 1636, was a British colony until 1776, joined other colonies in opposition to British independence. Rhode Island's name was named after the Dutch explorer Adrian Block. Because the red clay on the island was named after the Dutch explorer "Roodt Eylandt".
