The purpose of this paper is to study the conflict between rationality and irrationality in the death of Venice and to evaluate how this confrontation evolves and resolves. Through a short story, the ancient Greek gods, mainly Apollo and Dionysus, and Plato's philosophers and philosophy explained in conflict with the conflict. Through contemporary influences such as Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, Mann further reconsider these ancient materials through contemporary prism and do this in the story of life and death of the main character Achenbach.
Visconti 's Venetian interpretation of Mann' s death Thomas Mann 's "Death of Venice" is a very complex novel. To put it on the screen, the director must choose the most important (or most descriptive) element from the mythical, psychological, and philosophical aspects of the story. The plot basically does not change. As I am most interested in Aschenbach's gay stories, I will focus on the strange looking person, Aschenbach's dream, and the parallel relationship between rejection of this disease in Venice and his own Tadzio denial .
Thomas Man talked about the Greek myth in his novel "The Death of Venice". One of the Greek myths mentioned in the death of Venice is a struggle called Apollonian vs. Dionysion. Thomas Man was strongly influenced by his teachings of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, Apollonia and Dionysus' fight. According to Nietzsche, everyone contains the characteristics of Greek gods and these two men are always in an internal struggle to dominate their personal character.

The tendency of Dionysus corresponds to irrationality and passion. Nietzsche believes that these two trends exist. If either tendency is denied it will cause confusion. These ideas are easily related to Raskolnikov 's socialism. The discussion of Raskolnikov in the journal inevitably means that people with new ideas will gain power from the obedient masses. These extraordinary creatures (led by the trend of Dionysia) must resist ordinary Apollo suppression. After some kind of revolution, the radical theory and the conservative Apollo principle will be summarized in an intermediate position. At the conclusion of the conversation between Raskolnikov and Pofiri, he said that this revolutionary cycle is New Jersealem (Dostoyevsk!
