How eating habits are influenced by Chinese culture, and what is food? As defined in British encyclopedia, food is essentially any substance consisting of proteins, carbohydrates and fats used in living organisms to maintain growth, repair and life processes and provide energy. "Eating habits" is a method by which humans eat food (Foyan & Sucher, 1995) such as how to obtain and store food, how to produce food, how to feed, how to ingest, and how to ingest. Most animals stop eating when they get full, but I want to eat even when they are full.

Eating habits, especially the Chinese New Year 's happiness and the symbolism of ancestral worship, is even an important or critical criterion for Chinese culture. People with the same culture have the same eating habits; they share the same combination of food variables, people of different cultures share different combinations of ingredients (Chang). Another characteristic of Chinese diet is about food ideas and beliefs that have a good influence on cooking methods and eating methods of food. "The most important thinking about Chinese cuisine - perhaps a firm but unannounced idea about scientific support - is that food type and quantity are closely related to human health" (Chang ). The Chinese stresses the importance of maintaining health; therefore, they conducted in-depth research to create diverse foodstuffs to achieve their purpose as healthy people. Before the decline of the great empire, China once was a powerful country.

Chinese cuisine and how to make it are influenced by two major philosophies that affect the whole Chinese culture. These mainstream philosophies are Confucianism and Taoism. Both have these philosophies that affect how men and women cook and how they enjoy food. Confucius is a person behind Confucian beliefs. Among many other criteria, Confucius set criteria for the appearance and taste of table manners and Chinese cuisine. One of the many criteria set by Confucius (although you may have noticed this with a genuine Chinese restaurant) is that you need to reduce food a bit to provide it. This is a habit peculiar to Chinese culture.
