Modern English words and the name of our planet "Earth" are said to be traceable to at least 1000 years. There is also a German tribe who immigrated from mainland Germany to Britain in the 5th century as English developed from 'Anglo-Saxon' (English - German). It is the same as 'erde' which means ground and earth. In Old English, the word is 'eor (th) e' or 'ertha'. It is speculated that the origin of this word originates from "er" in Indo-European languages. This is a more contemporary alteration of the words used in today's language. Surely, every planet is named Earth, and the Earth is the only person in our solar system that does not belong to Greek and Roman myths. All other planets are named after the gods and goddesses of Greece and Rome.

British people traditionally speak English and are a member of the West Germanic family. Modern English developed from Central English (a form of language used by Britons from the 12th to the 15th century); Central English was influenced by Norman French, Old French and Latin vocabulary. In the middle English age, Latin is the administrative language, and the nobility speaks Norman French. Central English itself originated from the old English Anglo-Saxon era, and in the northern and eastern part of England the language of Danish settlers affected that language. In that history, modern English has been withdrawn from vocabulary of other languages such as French, Latin, Greek, and Dutch, and a little from many other words.
