How do I compare and contrast The Diary of Anne Frank?

I'm not sure what type of comparison or control I want. Anne Frank's diary is the story of a family (and others) hidden during the occupation. On the other hand, waves are experiments and successful experiments, representing the desire for people to abandon control of their lives. What are you comparing?
