Color blindness is a common response to racial discrimination. More specifically, this is a common reaction of Caucasians trying to refuse racial discrimination. "I am color blind, I see people, not colors, we are all the same." You can even teach your child the best intentions.
Color blindness makes everyone whites. To put it another way of saying, "I think everyone seems to be white." The same default color is white.
Color vision abnormality highlights the identity of non white people. Your default identity culture is white culture. When your child becomes color blind and encourages you to treat everyone as 'identical' you will cast white on non white people and deny their experience, tradition and identity.
Color blindness suppresses serious repressive stories. Looking at everyone through color blindness and white lenses will deny the reality that non white people face. After the police shot and killed the black Philando Castile, the Minnesota state governor asked: "If this driver is a white man, will this happen? I do not think so." Honest stories about his death are very important. Color blindness indicates that white people are shot the same way the same day.
The color vision anomaly assumes that everyone has the same experience in America. When color can not be seen, you will not admit fraud or pressure. The comedian Louis CK elaborately explains the error of this hypothesis. "I like white people," he said. "What a wonderful white: I can go anytime if I have a time machine, it will be great if I get there, it is definitely a white privilege! A black man can not use a time machine!"
Colorblindess insists that races other than white are inferior. When you teach your child to be color blind, you basically say, "If someone is not white, they will pretend you look like you, and you can become friends" It is. The basic aspect is inhumane
Race is not the only thing to define a race. Gender, gender, religion, race, ability, trauma history, socio-economic status (to name a few) are factors that lead to alienation, fraud, and oppression.
It is easy to promote color vision abnormality. In this dialogue with children, color vision anomalies eliminate the need to identify and discuss highly unpleasant reality while eliminating cultures such as racial discrimination, fraud and oppression. Be brave. Do difficult conversations. Recognizing that the difference is not racial discrimination, this is against the racist
I often hear that white people say they are color blind because they are the way they say they can not see color; they are not racists. But the last thing to do is color vision abnormality. Students need to look at colors and other races and teach them to better understand the sources of their students. We think that they do not understand what is going on, or because we are too young to be exposed to underdevelopment, our society is trying to conceal young people 's difficult conversations and terrible events. But, in reality, our young students are listening to these events and developing their own opinions - sometimes lacking knowledge and guidance
I did not see the game! Though they never admired Stephen Colbert, their next strategy is usually followed by my color vision abnormalities. "Color vision abnormality" does not mean that you can not actually see green or red, but it means that you can not be racist against being completely colored. This ideology is very popular - like the racial Utopia version of the Golden Rule - but it is actually very racist. "Color vision abnormality" does not recognize the real way racial discrimination exists, and it continues to exist in individuals and systems. By insisting that you do not see race, you just ignore racial discrimination and will not solve it.
