How Can I Be Happy?: The Different School of Thoughts of Stoicism and Epicureanism

For years, ethical research has divided the philosophical world into competitive thinking schools. Two of these schools, Stewishism and Epicurean School discuss the specific question "How can I be happy?" Please prove that this is not an easy-to-answer question. There are two philosophical elementary schools in the Roman Empire, both of which are stoicism and epicureanism born in Greece. Epicurean believes life should be enjoyed because life is short lived. Stoic Sc ​​hool believes that the greatest achievement in life is knowledge and virtue. Although they emphasize Socrates' ethical doctrine, it is like many of the early Christian teachings. The most important thing in their moral doctrine is the existence of the golden rule. Prior to accepting Christianity, stoicism was the main moral light of Roman society.

The Aristotle School, the Stoic School School, and the Epicurean School have different views on happiness in many respects, but in the essence of happiness should briefly state that there is a fundamental relationship between schools. Similarity, that is, happiness seems to be the end of mankind, its purpose and desire, self-sufficiency. In fact, happiness may be a synonym for good. Likewise, happiness is achieved through some philosophical training. In order to carry out this analysis, we need to consider the theme of ancient happiness theory from the following viewpoints. Unlike real happiness, this is opposite in ancient schools, but it is a form to pursue of happiness. Therefore, the most useful thing for us is to examine the different ways each school pursues happiness and reveal the main differences between them.
