Esperanza Cordero is one of my very troubling patients. Her family lives in the poverty line because her father is a gardener and her mother is a housewife who has moved from her early childhood in Esperanza many times. Esperanza was very embarrassed and depressed but she was a very smart and considerate girl. She experienced many difficult and uneasy experiences. She was raped, her aunt died, her father was severely damaged by the death of her grandfather, and he has not yet established friendship with the other children.
In a series of episodes, the mango street house spent a year at the beginning of the novel a lifetime of Esperanza about 12 years old, Tikana (Mexican American girl) a year. In that year, she and her family moved to the mango street house. This house has greatly improved the former apartment of this family, the first house the parents actually have. But this house is aging so it is not what Esperanza dreamed about. The house is located in the heart of the crowded Latin community in Chicago, where many of the poor areas of the city are apartheid. As Esperanza did not keep privacy, I decided to leave Mango Street one day and have my own house.
The mango street house consists of 44 short character sketches or stories called episodes. They were told by Esperanza that she and her family moved to Mango street in Mario. As she saw on TV, Esperanza hates their house on Mango street, as it is not a "real" house. Esperanza's name means "hope" and she soon met Rucy and Rachel. She also met a wise marin about "women's affairs", but she was always trapped in the cousin she was taking care of. She found a fear of outsiders about neighbors and fear of "browning" their neighbors. She became a friend of Alicia attending college at night, so she will not be trapped in her because of the rest of her life.
The relationship between Esperanza and her family has changed in mango street as a whole. Over time, she changed the house itself and the emotional impact of the house. Esperanza's house on Mango Street symbolizes her Mexican culture. She wanted to leave it forever. She imagined a lifestyle that is different from her habit - from home to home. "This house will be different / my life will be different" - Ali now scares the boy with his fist. Ali said: "I learned some knowledge about battle, they moved soon, they surprised them, it is always effective" (Sáenz 52). This shows what Ali practiced, which also indicates that Dante is blocked by the expectation of this gender. Dante ceased speaking during battle because he knew that he was weak and that his identity was being compromised. Ali demonstrates his power with his own power
