Houmas House is wonderful. I am not like plants and gardens, but I can even understand the work and plans that make my house special. Sugar cane farms, in the 18th century, a large pre-war legacy of 10 acres was once one of the wealthiest landlords in the area. You are now in the country of the plantation, the oak array is one of the most valuable places. In the field you will find some of the tools and equipment used to rebuild the slave dorms and to manage them. There are also a few ordees that show slaves, they make things they are today and what they last to the plantation.
