Horizon Fund Creates Global Opportunities

Founded in 2009, the Horizon Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary with members of 161 members of Denison Class in 1959. Horizon Fund is a permanent foundation aimed at providing important opportunities for students. In particular, the annual income of the Foundation will support students seeking a course or extracurricular learning experience. This fund can be used for internship, study abroad, student program, registration with academic or professional competence development meeting and travel, service experience and field survey related expenses. This fund can be used for personal and group experiences using individual application and financing guidelines.

Three students used funds from Horizon Fund for the interesting global experience in the spring and summer of 2016. Yusuf Ahmed '16 (Communication and International Studies) conducted a spring break at NGO I DARE and Jordan on sustainable development and conflict resolution. Sarah Lopez '17 (Psychology and education research focuses on strange research) cooperates with Brazilian Favela project in the summer of 2016

Volunteers at Project Favela are educating young children in the slums of Rio. Samantha McLaughlin '19 (English writing and art history and visual culture) has educational experience in the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland in July 2016 through the Candle Holocaust Museum & Education Center.

Each of these students benefited from the generosity of Dennison graduates to accomplish these wonderful global experiences.

I will cultivate their critical thinking ability, adaptability, and creativity. Intelligent approach As scholars focus on concepts, theories, practices, and discoveries, the program evolves in a rapid and sophisticated manner. Intellectual academic approach is aimed at becoming inclusive and rich, not practical or progress of special subjects. You should take daily courses and participate fully in the academic and intellectual life of the community. Each student is assigned to the three priority areas selected at the time of application and participates in general research seminars and governor seminars.
