Throughout history, people who are attractive to the same gender often experience many abuses, discrimination, and are often seen as "sexual assaulters". Since the beginning of history, the relationship between homosexuals has always existed. Because they are persecuted and sometimes forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation, their lives are not necessarily easy. At the same time, George Changsei, professor of history at Yale University, said they had to push their struggle into the legal system to gain their rights and dignity. It is difficult to live before growing up.
Homosexuality is actually a controversial topic, not the foundation of academic research, but the facts of our church and society. In the 1970s, homosexuals were awakened by their rights and formed a gay rights movement. They come from many different social classes and show themselves in front of their fellow citizens. In 1967, the UK Parliament passed a sex crime bill that proclaimed homosexual acts as not criminal acts. After the sexual violence case is passed, books and publications are displayed on the shelf and sold. Homosexuality organization was founded. Indeed, homosexuality is no longer a hidden trend of society. British theologian William Norman Pittinger replied immediately after 1967 and tried to find theological acceptance of homosexuality in the Bible and Christian faith.
Along with the advent of modern psychiatry, homosexuality is seen as sick rather than sin. The idea of the origin and nature of homosexuality was formerly based only on research of dysfunctional psychosis patients. The theory formed by this type of research shows that disability in familial relations, especially in relation between mothers and children is the cause of homosexual behavior. These theories are not only based on the assumption of homosexual psychology but they are not convincing. Also, many heterosexuals come from families with barriers. (Thompson 12, 228) In 1973, homosexuality was removed from the official list of psychiatric disorders of the American Psychiatric Association. There is no mental health expert who officially regards homosexuality as a disease, but a famous theorist insists it is sick.
