It is managed by the Mumbai Municipal Public Corporation (MCGM) (sometimes called Brihanmumbai Municipal Public Corporation) previously known as Mumbai Municipal Enterprise Corporation (BMC). MCGM is responsible for the needs of citizens and infrastructure in big cities. The mayor will be indirectly elected through parliamentarians for a term of two and a half years.
