Two million American adults are suffering from severe depression (Web MD). One in 15 people is stunning (only two in our classroom). Holden Caulfield is obviously one of them. Depression is a disease that causes death, but it can also be prevented. Psychology, stress events and prescription drugs are the cause of depression. The nervous incident caused Holden's melancholy. Holden was trying to endure the loss of his brothers.

J. D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" depicts New York City's teenager Halden Cofffield in the 1950s as a manic depressive disorder. Holden's frustration began with the death of his brother Erie. Because of his frustration his school was poor and Holden was expelled from many schools. Manic depression, obsessive liars and immaturity in the whole novel are characteristic of Holden. Holden's lifetime affair disappointed him. Holden's melancholy is concentrated in Erie. Depending on how Holden is looking at his way and how he or she is watching others, he will be expelled from school. The lecturer said, "I am dissatisfied with packing one thing" (51). Holden expressed these emotions when he was told to pack his bag after being exiled. Holden graduated from school and traveled to New York City. He shouted and said, "What I really want to do is suicide.
