Bullying existed in Canadian history for centuries. It affects many adolescent development and growth patterns of young adults. It also causes a lot of unnecessary death. Bullying not only causes physical harm but also causes many psychological distress and psychological problems. It may interfere with the growth of children and may cause permanent damage to life. In order to better protect people being bullied, it is necessary to consider more severe penalties, especially in cases of death.
According to the survey in 35 countries, Canadian bullying rate is shown to be the highest ("Canada Bullying Statistics", 2012). At least a third of Canadians from 12 to 18 years of age are being bullied and saying that many children under the age of 12 are being bullied ("Canadian Bullying Statistics", 2012). About sex difference, 15% of girls and 18% of boys tell that they were bullied at least twice in their lives. ("Facts and myths (from www.prevnet.ca)", 2015). Overall, 38% of men and 30% of women are reported to be bullied in school age in Canada ("Canadian Bullying Statistics", 2012). The bullying rate is rising, and the bullying rate has risen from 6.3% in 2009 to 7.8% in 2011. One student in ten reports weekly bullying (Kann, 2012; "11 facts on cyberbullying"). Nd)
