History, Symbolism, and Characters in Homer’s The Odyssey

In Odyssey, Odysseus took twenty years to return from the Trojan horse war. On his way home, he encountered many obstacles and creatures he had to overcome. He met sirens, cyclops and others. Every episode in this epic has its symbolic meaning behind it. Homer wrote history, symbols, and characters in the Odyssey. Odyssey is about Greek gods and heroes and their adventure (Makman). Odysseus is the hero and he is carrying out tasks that take several years to complete.

The use of the symbol on Homer's Odyssey has three different symbols which are very important for epic. The first sign is a wound, the second sign is a bow, and the third sign is a bed. "Please note the importance of the logo in Homer's work, such as the ship's logo burning on Iliad, and there is a long backtrack to tell Odysseus how to obtain the wound and its importance.Who is who he is, And he defines who he is.

In Homer's hero "Odyssey", Odysseus experienced various changes between himself and his environment. He often participated in symbolic adventures. In Odyssey 's 9, 10, 11 chapter, Odysseus experienced symbolic death and regeneration. This poem has another scene that also contributes to this theme. Homer uses a repeating pattern to indicate the growth and maturity of Odysseus in poetry. Odysseus is far away and you can see his beautiful wife and son again. He lost contact with his hometown and has never seen the appearance of his family, friends, or family for ten years. His whole journey symbolizes death and regeneration. First, Homer painted this theme through Telemacos, a son of Odysseus. In the first book of this poem, Athena speaks in a manner disguised as Telemahkos. By speaking to him, the reader sees that Telemakhos feel symbolically dying inside.

"Odyssey" is an epic written by an ancient Greek poet Homer. This is a classic story focusing on his journey to Ithaca after the conclusion of the Trojan War with the hero of Odysseus. In Odyssey, Homer draws Odysseus as a balanced individual. During the Homer period, the Greeks believed that balanced people had to have three important features: smart minds, healthy bodies, and good abilities. Odysseus embodies three important features of Greek's vision for balanced individuals, including witty people, body health, speaking ability.
