Hispanic heritage : Ellen Ochoa

Ellen Ochoa is an American engineer and former astronaut and presently the director of the Johnson Space Center. Allen was born on 10th May 1958 and was born in Los Angeles, California. She studied at San Diego State University and in 1980 got a master's degree and a master's degree in physics.

Allen has built a history and became a Hispanic woman who travels the world's first space travel. Allen was elected NASA in January 1990 and officially became an astronaut in 1991.

The Hispanic tradition is important to me. Because it gives me the opportunity to learn more about other people who do not look like me. This is also important because we can appreciate and celebrate the history, culture and contribution of American ancestry from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, Latin America.

His family was a Mexican so Allen's roots came from her father. When Allen grew up, her father thought that the people at that time were biased toward speaking their mother tongue. Allen believes that he is Hispanic and does not put pressure on his career.

Allen's obstacle is that Allen's parents divorced when they were junior high school students. Because Allen's father is bilingual, he only speaks English at home. The Spaniard was worried about the lack of discrimination he experienced, but this was not only a challenge for Allen, but also a challenge for her four brothers and sisters.

Ochoa was certified at the Spanish Heritage Month event held on September 14, 2011 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ochoa High School in Pasco, Washington State, Ellen Ochoa Primary School in Qudahi, California, the name of Animo Eren Ochoa Charter High School in the eastern part of Los Angeles is her name. There is also the Ellen Ochoa STEM Academy at Ben Millam Elementary School in Pico Ribera, California in Grande Prairie, Texas. The United public school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently opened a new elementary school named after her. The Pasco Ochoa High School rocket logo flag of Washington State flew to the ozone at the Space Shuttle Atlantis in April 2002 for an 11-day mission. When Ochoa visited special guests in 2002, he returned the banner to the school and is still showing forever.

In 2012, Ochoa was appointed as the eleventh director of the Johnson Space Center. And it made her the first Hispanic American and the second woman to hold this position. She also received NASA 's Distinguished Service Medal, Outstanding Service Medal, and Outstanding Leadership Medal. Recently, we sat down with her to discuss her career, the future of aviation women, and the women who inspired the future.

Dr. Ellen Ochoa is currently the eleventh director of the Johnson Space Center. She is the first Hispanic director of the Space Center and the second female director. Dr. Ochoa is also a member of the National Science Council and serves as chairman of the National Technical Innovation Medal Recommendation and Evaluation Committee. Ellen Ochoa holds a bachelor's degree in physics from San Diego State University. She continued her studies at Stanford University and got her master's and electrical engineering degrees in electrical engineering. She is a co-inventor of three patents and is the author of numerous technical papers in the field of optical information processing. Dr. Ochoa has won numerous awards including NASA's highest award, Distinguished Service Medal. She is honored to have five schools.
