High-Stakes Testing in American Schools

The NCLB law requires the government to find ways to track progress and in their view it is a high risk test. In high-risk tests, some people think that this is the only indicator to track students and teachers, so they are subject to strict scrutiny. They seem to be ridiculed by many people and seem to be endorsed by a few people, but there is still a big difference between the people and the government. When tests are used to make major decisions about students, such as high school graduation and grade improvement, it is called "high risk".
