Hiding from Reality

Why do people want to live in a perfect world? Everyone wants to live in a fantasy world of theirs. Nobody wants the world of sorrow and sorrow. Life should be satisfied. Please do not waste it. It should be accepted. When we face pain, we have to choose to accept or hide it. In theater "Desire Streetcar" of Tennessee Williams, the author focuses on Blanche Dubois. .

In the game of Tennessee Williams, at the glass zoo, all four of the Wingfield family chose to evade the reality. Amanda tried to pursue the past with Laura and denied what she does not want to accept. Laura is afraid of the real world, and chose to hide behind her feet, the glass zoo and behind Victoria. Tom hides his reality by watching movies, writing poetry, drunk. Mr. Winfield concealed his reality after leaving his family and he did not contact them after doing so. All members of the Wingfield family have their own escape mechanism to hide and escape the real world.

Laura Winfield chose to avoid reality at the drama "glass zoo". She seems to live in the world to which she belongs, hidden by everyone outside the apartment, and by anyone. Laura is afraid of something new or different. Her mother sent her to the business school, but Laura was extremely afraid that "the first speed test, she collapsed completely - the stomach was sick and I almost had to go to the toilet" (P. 243). Laura used her claudication as an excuse to avoid the world. She thinks that her slight embarrassment exercises her imperfections and therefore can not become part of the real world. Laura's Glass Zoo and victrola act as a way to protect her from the real world. Whenever she is uncertain or afraid, Laura will extend one of these two things to get comfort. When she discovered that Jim was engaged and never saw himself again, "She stood up unstable and kneeled beside the fence and rolled it up" (p. 307). (Page 303)
