Spain's King Charles I approved him to conquer and colonize in the southeastern United States now. Leaving Hernando again crossed the current state of Florida, Georgia, Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi. He even crossed the Mississippi River, but it was burned by heat on the banks of the Mississippi River in 1542.
