Heroto (/he ɪ .ərɒt / HAY - ə - rot), also known as Heroto, is a Mead Hall that is described as "the most important museum in the world" in the Angowa Saxon epic Beowulf. It is the palace of King Hruðgar, the legendary Danish king in the 6th century. Heorot is "Hart Hall" (Buck). [1] Geatish hero Beowulf protects Royal Hall and its inhabitants from Glendell's devil
The size of this hall is large enough for Hroðgar to give Beowulf 8 horses, each with gold-plated headdress. [4] It can be used as a seat of the government or as a residence of the king (warrior). Heorot symbolizes human civilization and culture, and the power of the King of Denmark, all good things in the world of Beowulf. Its brightness, warmth and joy are in stark contrast to the darkness of the wetlands in which Glendell lives. [6]
The contemporary scholarship regards the village of Lejre near Roskilde as home of Heorot. In Scandinavian sources, Heorot corresponds to the Hroððgardr, Hrððgargar (HrólfrKraki) hall mentioned in the legend of HréðKraki in Lejre. Medieval age reporters Saxo Grammaticus and Sven Aggesen suggest that Lejre is a mansion of the Skjöldung clan of Hroðgar (in poetry "Scylding"). From 1986 to 1988, Tom Christensen of the Roskilde Museum of Art found the ruins of the Viking Hall in Lejre in the southwest. Foundation wood is radioactive carbon of about 880 years. It was discovered later that the building was built in the old building 680 years ago. In 2004 - 2005, Christensen dug a third hole north of the other two holes. This hall was built in the middle of the sixth century, and the three halls are about 50 meters long. [6]
Fred C Robinson also believes in this identity: "Flosger (and later Froslough) dominated the royal settlement and now the current place is the real place of the modern Danish rare village, hero The latest publications on its role in Lejre and Beowulf are John Niles and Marijane Osborn, Beowulf and Lejre. In Beowulf, Heorot is described as a hall built by Denmark King Hrothgar for his village. As part of the daily ritual, everyone drinks and socializes with Heorot. Beowulf's Heorot literally means "hearthall" and heart is a stag. In this poem, the author wrote: "Men are not obsessed, they were able to tell the wooden structures in the hall, were wonderfully decorated with gold, the most important hole is under the sky; that light shines in many places , "Showing the grandeur and respect of the royal family (pp. 306-311). Glendell attacked the Hell-hello with a fierce enemy, letting Beowulf search him, all except for Beowulf, everyone concerned about Glendell Beowulf is responsible for defending Heorot so Beowulf murdered Glendell and let Herrot attack Grundel again.
In the epic, Beowulf, Hrothgar is the king of the Danish people, the owner of the hall, Heorot. At the beginning of this poem saw the savage monster Glendell, which had been looted by the Herrot Hall of Fame for some time. Soldiers of the Hrothgar Kingdom could not defeat Grendel until Geat of Beatulf arrived to support the Danish people. Beowulf broke Grendel boldly and later became the mother of Grendel. Beowulf gave Flosger a sword who killed Glendell's mother as a symbol of victory when he returned. Hrothgar praises him for reward, but he also has several suggestions to give a magnificent warrior
