Helping Children with Incarcerated Parents

A serious problem facing today's country is that 7 million children are currently very painful when their parents are in prison (Maier 91). Not only did they leave their own pain, they had to struggle with their daily lives without parental guidance and find new homes. According to Dennis Johnston, the founding director of a child center for parents imprisoned with parenting specialists, "In the United States more than 10 million underage children have dealt with parents' detention for a while" (91 ).

According to Pew Research, underage 's 7 million children currently have parents imprisoned. This is one of 28 American children. In 1985 just after Russo 's father entered, 125 people came. Prisoners' children do not have much help or sympathy, but recent consensus on the disadvantages of mass prisons is attracting public attention. In 2013, Sesame Street began a new tool kit on imprisonment to help children solve the problem.

Fifth, some programs and services are designed to promote the happiness of children who are accommodated in their parents prison. The basic premise of these plans is that parent prison accommodation is not a transition of normal life and parents and children need help to cope with the problems caused by the parent's prison accommodation. Many programs do not obviously follow a specific method or model, and many programs do not specifically deal with the problem to be solved 1. A quarter of the black children born in the era of mass imprisonment have parents in jail which will limit their parents' average income to 40% of their lifetime. The cycle of imprisonment is virtually a feedback loop in people who are costly at all stages, including arrest, litigation costs, fine, parole, unemployment, working hours, eviction, and almost impossible to resolve poverty. But even people who are not jailed will pay for imprisonment.
