As far as the comments in this book are concerned, I am clearly a minority, but I think that "This applies to all people." This is one of those rare books I can not wait for the end. I do not like it, so I can not stop the books on the way; I have to finish it anyway, but I am very close to stopping it. Sylvie's character is funny and developed, but most other characters seem to be compulsory or shallow, leaving the overhead of the problem and expecting more. I find some actions, some interesting things that I can not wait to happen to promote this story. But that never happens. Writers have some carrots in front of readers, such as dolls, "attaching" items, but they can not get the full potential.

For clarity, this is neither a book about demons nor occultism, nor is it to cool down from afar. This is a story about her observation about a very unusual family life, a girl dealing with family members, and the world around her. This alone is a wonderful story, but if the author can not guide you through the path of potential fear, it is simply a shame. Then, like Abigail and dolls, there are some aspects that make no sense. Why are they even in the book? They emerged and paused for a while and it seemed like the author thought he was tired of them and pushed them behind

The worst is the ending. Do not give it up, but the resolution is vigilant and torn. Finally if you want to completely change the course, why introduce some roles. Oh

I hope that I can regain my money. I want to finish reading this book, so there are some pages that actually passed. Also, please believe yourself when promising not to miss.

If you are really interested in this book, I encourage you to find it in the library and not to spend money.

Gordon: Wow. The novel "House of the Hill House" published by Jackson in 1959 is considered to be a classic haunted mansion story. It was actually nominated for the National Book Award and lost to Philip Roth's bidding for Columbus. And you said that the novel, The Haunting of Hill House, is the best novel by Shirley Jackson and can be said to be comparable to Henry James's classic "rotating screw". Why do you think that Hill House's Hill House is a very wonderful piece? Franklin: Well, first of all, it's very beautiful. The whole prose is suppressed beyond time, but it is very exciting. But more importantly, I know that when the horror story is good we know that we will talk about the ghost story, because horror has all sorts of implications. But as James did in "turning the screws", when the ghost stories are very good, they have reached the real depth of psychology.

Another famous novel that she created was "The troubles of the mountain house" published in 1959. This story focuses on groups of people involved in supernatural research of haunted house. This novel uses psychology to insert supernatural phenomena and is described as "one of the most important horror stories of the 20th century" by Steven Hawking.
