Heart of Darkness and Things Fall Apart: Complements, or Contrasts? Audrey Fisher

When Europeans harvested ivory and arrived in Nigeria to spread their religious philosophy, many Africans were exploited and their culture changed irreversibly. Two novels separated by Joseph Conrad's Dark Heart and Chinua Achebe provide a report on how Caucasian affects Africa. However, I doubt whether these novels really complement one another. Conrad's work is labeled as "racial discrimination" by Chinua and includes elements such as language and perspective that make it interpretable. Conrad 's dark heart is making racist proposals, but further analysis suggests that it depicts sympathy for Africans. It contrasts clearly with the atrocities of Europeans, and in particular shows the dignity and culture of Africa, this book supplements the collapse of things.

Among these two works, the author shows the human nature of African culture through the actions and traditions of Nigerian people. For example, Conrad emphasized the amount of control that local people showed, especially through reaction and observation of Marlow. He said "I will quickly think about Hyena's bondage in battlefield corpses"

The comparison used to separate things is a normal comparison between individuals and local villages. Another aspect that you can compare and contrast between the two novels is those sentences. Dark Heart is written from first person viewpoint through Marlow's eyes. The pretty unique writing style of Conrad for the dark heart is that this novel is written as a double story with a first person stories in the first person stories

The tragic collapse of things and the heart of darkness broke up in the dark heart of Conroad and the problem of Acehbe and the role of Africa was intertwined. It was considered to be very primitive, and the belief system of Africa was devalued. The two heroes in the novel are very similar, especially in one aspect. They all collapsed.
