Healthy Schools Program

The alliance believes that a healthy school environment is essential for providing students with the necessary knowledge and skills to make healthy choices throughout their lifetimes. A more healthy school environment will help students better learn. According to the survey, healthy and educated students have good results in the exams, good grades, frequent school attendance, good grades in the class.

Health schools plan to support more than 20 million students by improving sports, health education, child nutrition, employee health policies and programs at nearly 35,000 schools. Health schools will receive most of the funds from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to support schools in the state with the highest obesity rate.

The Health School program will help the school build a healthier school environment and certify successful schools through nationwide certification programs. School support and awards are focused on the following goals.

As part of an effort to implement state-of-the-art educational programs and healthy school meals at all Coachella Valley schools and as part of the Health Generation Health School Program Alliance, 73% of Coachella Valley schools have at least one health education 85% of schools improved sports and / or sports programs; 87% improved nutrition service. Improved policy and / or practice; CHMI's Employee Health Improvement Program is a resource to support the formulation, implementation and evaluation of employee health plans as means to improve employee health and improve employee productivity. The Alliance's Health School Program will support a national school and create a school environment that encourages physical activity and healthy eating of students and employees. Currently, 968 schools in 34 states are aided by the onsite health school program and more than 1,300 schools receive online and telephone assistance. Any school in that country is eligible to participate in the Health School Program for free, and the alliance is expected to expand support to more than 22,000 schools by 2010.
