Advances in technology are opening up new ways to collect health data. There are opportunities to use these new platforms and data sources to improve public health monitoring. This will raise the following questions. How can we best utilize these new sources and integrate them into existing health monitoring systems?
To answer this question, the major health and innovation organizations in Canada and the United States gather together to create challenges for health behavior data. Competition is aimed at identifying and evaluating new data sources and methods to enhance public health monitoring
Innovators seem to come up with creative new data and data sources that can be used to measure sedentary behaviors such as physical activity indicators such as daily steps, sleeping such as overnight waking, average daily seat time You will be asked. (Or) nutrients (such as fruits and vegetables that can be eaten daily)
After evaluating the entry from across the country, the eight Canadian proposals were chosen to enter the second phase of the contest, and the team continued to develop and verify their concepts. Next, three proposals were chosen as winners of the overall challenge. Entry in the United States will be evaluated in two stages
This assignment is divided into two separate processes. One is a Canadian innovator and the other is an American innovator. Applications for each stream are processed separately. Both streams follow a two-step process
Challenges Participants identified and proposed new data sources, platforms and methods for measuring any number of indicators of physical activity, sleep, sedentary behavior or nutrition. As a starting point, it is recommended to enable measurement of indicators at the population level and to use the list of recommended measures on the health index page. Finalists chosen from the initial stage receive economic rewards and can find the reward details on each challenge streams application website.
Ask the selected submission to further develop and verify the concept of Phase 1. Analyze and compare the results with the existing survey, analysis, and / or monitoring results of Canadian Stream (Canadian Stream) or US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US flow). Then, choose the most promising solution to get an economic return, and have the opportunity to explore how to incorporate this concept into the public health monitoring system.
Finalists of Health Behavior Data Challenge (HBDC) led by MaRS Discovery District (MaRS), Canadian Public Health Administration (PHAC), Canadian Sanitation Institute, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are cooperating with stakeholders of the organization to monitor public health Extend the diversity and scope of the data currently in use. Traditionally, public health experts rely on on-line questionnaires, face-to-face interviews, and phone surveys to gain insights about population health.
Lifestyle and its impact on health are general topics discussed in "Health Dialogue". Many discussions and suggestions highlight the importance of dealing with healthy behavior, healthy lifestyle for children and adolescents, and issues related to smoking and personal responsibility motivation and control . Here are some UK Colombians' choices on lifestyle themes. Many participants expressed concern about the unhealthy lifestyle and the negative impact it has on health care systems. Many people believe that the most fundamental problem associated with lifestyle choice is poverty until everyone is able to receive healthy food, stable shelter and education. Encourage incentives to target vulnerable groups and high-risk groups to encourage a healthy lifestyle
