Hazardous Materials Incident Response

Harmful substances may become important in everyday life if handled properly. However, inappropriate handling can lead to injury, death and destruction and may last for many years. In order to deal with the risk of uncontrolled emission of hazardous substances, coordinated efforts must be made to identify, locate and quantify hazardous substances at specific locations (Drexel University Safety & Health, 2001). In many cases, the industry and the government agree that hazardous substance accidents are not intentional or intentional, but release of harmful substances causing serious harm or death.

In the past 15 years, the first responder fee was limited primarily to events involving emissions of dangerous goods or other non-hazardous materials. As well as protecting the public when dangerous goods are released, the first responder usually reduces the maximum damage caused by the responsible party by including prompt response and spills. In many cases, services and related costs reduce the total risk of damage and are worth the cost. As with any other "service" fee, this may occur if the fee is far higher or does not match with the service being offered. Recently, the charge for emergency response may include fire services, ambulances, carers, police and community emergency management civil service.

The occurrence of dangerous goods includes various possibilities such as explosion, traffic accident, water leakage, fire. Hazards include chemical reactions, health hazards, toxicity, explosives, radioactive hazards, or any combination of the above risks. Taking this into consideration, terrorists have alternative toxic substances and attack methods. In order to fully and safely resist Hazmat terrorist attacks, the Hazmat team regularly participates in modernizing related training. These training not only determine the strengths and weaknesses of each team, but also determine how teams work together in the event of a disaster.

Our Hazardous Materials Response Team (HMRT) is activated as it has just been added to the County Emergency Action Plan (EAP) as a regional risk response HMRT team. Since this event is likely to be a large multi-organization strategy, it is essential to start the accident command process and establish a visible command place (CP). To maximize security, you need to establish and maintain control through events using unified command communication. After the fire, the police and the HMRT team arrived, we need coordinated identification, evacuation and mitigation work to create an effective, appropriate and safe accident action plan (IAP).
