Hawaii I left the flying gate of Honolulu Airport and entered another world. The world is strange but has some familiarity. There is Starbucks and a tired traveler, but on my left there is a huge outdoor panoramic window. Instead of looking over the gray sidewalks and the wonderful sky of Colorado state, these overlook the lush palm trees and the tropical forest. The moisture in the air clings to my cheeks, and my thick hair looks thick. But when I tried to find a baggage claim, that fear disappeared.

Hawaii is known as a place to surf, volcanoes, and Luaus. This condition is often seen as a tropical paradise for many people, but there are a few things about Hawaii that most people do not know. I listed below what I learned while in Hawaii, and I was surprised at some facts! There is only one island in this area, the weather is very different. On Kauai, Mount Waialare is known as "the wetest place on the planet", and it will rain over 460 inches per year. Just a few miles from here, the annual rainfall in the desert is less than 10 inches. I took advantage of this and turned around in the mud. I was very happy and a little dirty! In addition, due to the rain, some good places must be full of mud (they also offer muddy tours)!

Good news? Rain water in Hawaii will not last long. It usually rains in the 15 to 20 minutes afternoon and then the sun comes back. In addition, Hawaii has various microclimate even on the island.
