Have you ever been terrified, due to getting lost, while traveling in another country?

Truly, I really lost now. The worst nightmare for a traveling alone. This sand made my Volkswagen off road car uncontrollable. I do not know where I am. It was clear that it was at the end of the blind mud for several hours. It is located on the edge of the vast Pinacate Dunefield south of the Arizona border in Sonora, Mexico. This is a cruel center of the Sonoran desert, not an interesting, park-like premise found near Tucson because of "typical southwest landscape"

Maybe the highway Mex 2 is behind these mountains on the horizon? Is the range 2 or 20 miles? Should I wait until someone sees a red car in outer space?
