Harry S. Truman is the 33rd president of the United States. He was born in Lamar, Missouri in 1884. He grew up independently and had been working as a farmer in the parents' land for 12 years. He joined the army in 1917 shortly after the United States entered World War I. Harry Truman joined the Democratic Party after returning from the war. Since then, he is actively participating in local politics. His political career began with the judge of the Jackson County Court in 1922.
